How to restore our ecosystems, and save our planet.
A compilation of Ideas.
WE HAVE NOT COME TO CURSE THE DARKNESS,
WE HAVE COME TO LIGHT A CANDLE. Bobby Kennedy
Forward. Intro.
Imagine this;
We are at a time in history, the fork in the road. The road less traveled; the land of plenty for every one. Enough food, clean air and clean water, to recreate the planet as the Garden of Eden,
The other is to continue down the road that got us all to this point of environmental collapse. The economic system that creates immense great wealth for the few, and poverty for many worldwide; or causes the destruction of the natural world for production of many consumer goods, planed and designed to ware out soon. A process that Poisons the fish and the fungus. Destroys the great forests for profits. Poisons our children and the planet with cheep foods that are lacking nutrition, are addictive and destroy our health. An economic system that creates massive war machines and armies to assure the continuation of the economic system that destroyed or polluted so much of the natural world. Or the other path,
Save The Climate. Stop subsidizing agrochemical agriculture and fossil fuel farming. We still have a little time to stop this climate disaster.

Introduction
When writing a business plan for opening a new business, it is standard to start with writing out of a Best case scenario and a Worst case scenario. In the process of addressing the climate change disaster, we must consider a worst case scenario, and what we are up against…… In this case most of the problem is the entrenched political power structures that are behind the greed and control trips that influence the government and business inappropriately. By understanding this we get a better picture of how to get to a best case scenario.
Some of these have now become systemic corruption controlled by greed. Centralized power structures are often corrupted by those already in places of authority. From those outside who can influence them, or from those inside the system who have sold out. In this case this should be put in check by the Media. The “Free” Press. (President Johnson said “If you can convince the poorest white man that he is better than the poorest black man you can pick his pockets”)
Much of the media has become an instrument of Division-ism. The promoter of what used to be called the British divide and conquer strategy. “How about you and him fight?” Promoting a class war, a race war, an ideological war about economic systems, about types and forms of governance, about monetary systems, economic systems, about religion, about rural and urbane or about the rich and poor. Even about what is reality or honesty, or what is Fake news, Etc, etc, And now non press media, Social Media, (FB, Twitter, You Tube, Tic Tock, and on and on) (INSERT Why is this happening, Afghanistan and global corruption).
There are giant fossil fuel corporations, or Agribusiness that have run dis-information campaigns for decades.
Disinformation campaigns that say something like (Carbon pollution, Fungicides, Pesticides, other Biocides, Plastic pollution, etc) will have limited effect on the climate or the oceans, or on the flip side of the potential to mitigate or reverse climate destabilization..
Giant think tanks funneling dark money, working to change and subvert elections.… and common sense.
Vast amounts of money from big Ag and Big Pharma doing agriculture in the form of warfare, spraying millions of tons of Biocides and other toxins, destroying the biosphere, the soils, oceans and creating disease and antibiotic resistant strains of all kinds. Making Genetically modified plants that are resistant to poisons, for food processors, and fiber production.
The usury bankers and mega investment corporations on Wall Street that value profit above the planet, people and the natural world.
These corporations- disinformation machine- think tanks- fossil fuel- agribusiness- machines just make the whole of this
climate disaster bigger and more pronounced.
This must and will end. One way or another.
Even the Supreme Court having come out with some of the crazy decisions of recent history aggravate the situation.
The water case decisions that declare water is an article of commerce, and not a right as the original common law. The issue of our time from the Supreme Court that must be revisited and changed or nullified by Congressional Actions.
There are the giant think tanks, and 501 c-4 so called “Non Profit” Super PACs that funnel dark money into elections and buy and sell Congressional Representatives like a kid in a candy store.
The American Military Industrial Congressional Complex is the largest consumer of fossil fuel, even more fuel than the massive Agricultural systems. The military programs suck up half or more of the federal budget every year.
There are also the Traditional structures of land control like the Bureau of Land Management and the State and National Forest Systems. Some of these have even started to become allies in the fight to save the planet in recent years, but must do much much more to help improve the situation.
Anything that has the actual potential to limit or stop climate change must at least be considered. Unlike many of the corporate solutions that just aggravate the problem. That serve to make some one incredibly rich without actually stopping the activities that are actually causing the problem. One example is the “Carbon Credits” type of programs. One corporation or business pays someone else to plant trees, or pays another to not cut down an area of forest, while still putting out carbon or other environmental pollution into the biosphere. Without actually limiting the greenhouse pollutants.
Fires all over the western Americas, from California to British Colombia, Alaska and even winter fires in Florida, and the Greece fire and other European fires are just small examples of the last decade of ongoing devastation. Several thousand year floods in a period of just a few days in Germany, China, India, or Australia. Massive floods here on the North American continent of formerly almost unimaginable size
I know some people who think it is to late to turn this ship around. People who say they are not so optimistic about stopping the global overheating. I am quite sure it is still possible. It will take a concerted and consistent effort by everyone, and soon.
I had a teacher that used to say “If you would like to get out of a hole, first you must stop digging”
I was from New Mexico when I was young. I had no idea how much water and how green some of the areas of the North American Continent were. We can repair our ecosystems, it can be done. It is a big project. It is still possible.
It will likely take as many of the remedies to climate change as we can implement efficiently to reverse this disaster.
It will also likely take as many good new Ideas and processes as we can come up with to reverse this disastrous situation.
Many of the solutions to our current dilemma are very simple, but will take a lot of work and must be on a vast scale to be successful.
The massive fossil fuel reserves of carbons released into the atmosphere, and still being released all originally came from plants materials.
Plants are the best solutions to put carbon back into the ground. There is nothing more efficient to put carbon into the ground. Plants are the most energy efficient carbon capture systems we have. Just add water and sunlight; and plants are self replicating. This is plants on the land and in the oceans.
They capture carbon and nitrogen and convert it into stable forms with the help of bacteria and fungi.
I have seen the way plants are growing and changing. They are growing much faster now with all the carbon in the air. They are also growing faster from warmer temperatures, if not to hot. Faster than I have ever seen before. Almost incredibly fast in some cases.
The plants cool the surface of the earth and humidify the air. They shade the ground and keep it from overheating. They help make rain by humidifying the air, helping to move water inland with the prevailing winds.
Why we must build a continent wide water system.
One example is a part of the Navajo Indian irrigation project. Originally part of the proposed NAWAPA project of the late 1950s- early-60s. Many will not need to be as massive as this project, and some will probably have to be, to be able to refill the water tables and prevent the kind of massive flooding we have seen recently.
A two way project for flood control, prevention and distribution. Moving water to the driest areas of the continent and to reverse desertification, and with irrigation water even for urban use.

Granite or crusher fines. This is the fine stuff left over from the sand and gravel plant, and is a good way to get trace minerals into your garden. They take a while to break down and become available to the plants. A few months up to a year or two if you have good bio-active soil. It will take a lot more than Azomite or Greensand. The up side is they will keep putting out minerals for a long while, and is usually quite inexpensive compared to Azomite or Greensand.
Watering
Watering. If you have a way to catch rain water from your roof, rainwater from a thunder storm has lots of free nitrogen in it. Give this to your garden and potted plants, they will love it.
You might have to water a bit more than before the climate started to get warmer, but water really is a great plant growth accelerator, and one of the delimiting factors in growing. If you live in the west where it is really dry and hot, an early morning and early evening watering might be good. A really good wet/dry cycle is an excellent way to get your big plants to develop deep roots early in the season.
Harvesting Nitrogen, Naturally. If possible always keep beds covered with mulch, or with a living green manure if your beds are dormant in the fall or winter. Even if it is just turnip or a small Clover, Fenugreek, or Vetch. Winter Field Beans, or Fava Beans which are fairly cold hardy if you are not to far north.
Raised beds are also great for no dig methods of gardening and agriculture. Just keep adding more compost and then more mulch on top of the bed after every harvest. The mulch feeds the soil, suppresses weeds and keeps the soil cool in the summer, warmer in the winter, and helps prevent erosion.
Companion planting. Many plants will do better with other plants that are compatible. Many plants have different kinds of pests that like them, and others that pests do not. Intermixing plants from different families or growth habits can be beneficial to both when planted together properly. Avoid poison on your food and the beneficial insects if possible
If you live in an area with a harsh climate. You can also just use one crop to protect or act as a nurse crop until others get established or mature.
